The name Tony MacAlpine is synonymous with modern musical virtuosity. Whether performing as a solo artist, band member, session player, touring hired-gun, or as a producer, Tony MacAlpine continues to prove that he truly is one of rock’s most amazing and versatile musicians. He incorporates classical, jazz and fusion influences into the hard rock/metal genre on both guitar and keyboards.
In his 28 year career he has produced, written and arranged eleven solo instrumental studio albums. Tony has also released four albums with his jazz-fusion band CAB, three albums with his progressive rock band Planet X, and a number of other band projects. In addition, MacAlpine has contributed both guitar and keyboards to a long list of records by other artists.
In 2007 LoNero married groove and melody driven songs with rhythm and verse, focused it all on the song, band, and the audience the Guitarcore style was born! Legendary rock photographer Neil Zlozower describes LoNero’s style as “mean, intense, nasty, urgent, aggressive, and angry! I am definitely a fan!!!!” which is exactly what gets the audience going and coming back for more. Bill Lonero (who’s credits include performing and/or recording with Cliff Williams (AC/DC), Stu Hamm (Joe Satriani/Steve Vai), Mike Mangini (Dream Theater/Steve Vai/Extreme), Simon Kirke (Bad Company), Gigi Gonaway (Mariah Carey) and more), James Manalili, Mike McKaigg, and Marco Bicca continue to win over new audiences by touring as primary support for Pat Travers Band, being chosen to travel with Paul Di’Anno (Iron Maiden) as his main support and backing band and asked to open shows for legends such as Michael Schenker, Uli Roth, Tony MacAlpine and many more. LoNero have recently added third guitarist Nasser Abdala to truly make LoNero a powerhouse to witness.
