Three of indianapolis' up and coming blues guitarists come together on one night to pay tribute to the one and only Stevie Ray Vaughan. They are Zakk Knight, Nick Harless, and Mike Wasson. Let the blues ease your pain, as we honor the memory of one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
Zakk Knight is a young local talent and is gaining recognition both locally and nationally. Zakk is also the 2009 Robert Johnson Foundation New Generation Award Winner. The Zakk Knight Band has opened for Kenny Wayne Sheppard,Robert Cray, Here Come the Mummies, and has made several radio and television appearances.
Nick Harless is the guitarist in the Harless Brothers Band. With influences such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Joe Bonamassa, Johnny Guitar Watson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ten Years After, Rare Earth, and Robert Cray just to name a few, the Harless Brothers want to play for anyone and everyone who wants to listen, get their music out there, and let everyone know they were born to Rock N' Roll.
Mike Wasson, inspired by his father Michael Wasson Sr., Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore, and Doyle Bramhall II, began playing at age 14. Mike, now 21 has performed in local clubs and jams with the best area talent including performing at the Indiana State Fair, Blue Star Connection Benefits, and Bedford Blues & Brews Festival. Mike plays a Fender Strat and a Hamiltone Guitar with a growing intensity and feeling which will make him a permanent guitarist on the music scene for years to come.
